Revolution vs Rapids Preview: Hopefully it Doesn’t Rain

On Wednesday the New England Revolution face the Colorado Rapids in what will be their second preseason match of the year. The match will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park comes after the Revs fell to the LA Galaxy 2-1 on Monday. The Rapids have actually gotten two games under their belts already with a 4-0 win over Orange County SC and a 0-4 loss against Toronto FC on Saturday.

History Between Revolution and Rapids:

The last time these two sides faced off was 7/4/19 when the Revolution defeated the Rapids 2-1 on the road at Dicks Sporting Goods Park. This was the delayed filled match that went into the early morning hours.

Historically the Rapids have gotten the better of the Revolution in their 47 regular-season matchups with the Revs having a 17-20-9 record against the Rapids.

New England actually faced the Rapids in a preseason matchup in 2017 where the Rapids defeated the Revolution 3-1.

Theories/Predictions

Like the first preseason match, the outcome doesn’t matter whatsoever. I will be interested to see the status of the Revolution players that didn’t see the pitch on Monday. More specifically Carles Gil.
