Revs II: USL League One has Provisional Return Date

The New England Revolution II were set to make their USL League One debut on March 28th at Gillette Stadium but the COVID-19 Pandemic had other plans for New England’s second team.

But not all hope is lost on the 2020 season for Revs II. According to multiple reports, the USL League One Board of Governors voted to approve a provisional restart date of July 18. This news comes 24 hours after the USL Championship targeted July 11th as their provisional re-start date.

USL League One is a 12-team league and is the third division of the U.S. Soccer structure. This is a development top tier predominately made up of young players and provides the Revolution a controlled environment to send loanees rather than sending them to other parts of the country in seek of playing time.

Soccer leagues in the United States continue to make major headway in returns with the NWSL announcing a tournament last week and MLS announced a return of their own earlier in the week.
