Gustavo Bou Expected To Make Revolution Debut Against Vancouver
“We brought him here to play, not to sit in the stands, so hopefully we can get him on the field Wednesday,” Said Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena on Gustavo Bou.
On Tuesday the first meeting between the Revolution media and newly acquired forward Gustavo Bou took place on Tuesday on the training grounds.
New England is hoping to get Bou on the field when they host the Vancouver WhiteCaps on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium.
As for where Revolution fans can expect to see Bou play, he gave a little insight onto what Arena had told him.
“He (Arena) told me he’s seen a lot of me in Mexico, and wants to try and use me in the same position on the left to be able to link up with the midfielders and other forwards,” said Bou.
When asked about any nerves in potentially making a debut on Wednesday Bou noted that now that the transfer is through he feels relatively comfortable.
“The players have welcomed me with open arms and honestly, I’m just really looking forward to getting my first few minutes on the field and helping the team as much as I can,” said Bou.
His Revolution teammates have certainly taken notice of Bou’s ability on the field with long-time Revs forward Teal Bunbury impressed.
“It’s still early obviously, but to see his touches on the ball, he already seems comfortable,” said Bunbury on seeing Bou on the training field. “He ‘s going to be a special player.”
Bou and the New England Revolution will take on the WhiteCaps on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Gillette Stadium.
New England enters the match unbeaten in their last 8 MLS matches.
