Boston Cannons Defeat New York Lizards, Move To 3-0 For First Time In History
On Saturday history was made at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy, Massachusetts.
The Boston Cannons defeated the New York Lizards 18-11 to move to 3-0. This is the first time in Boston’s history that they are 3-0 and are now 2-0 on the season at home.
Boston scored 5, 3, 6, and 4 in terms of how their scoring broke out over the course of the game.
Sean Quirk’s team outshot New York 31-to-20 and had two goal scorers with four goals apiece, Mark Cockerton and Connor O’Hara.
Other goal scorers for Boston included Will Sands (2, first of season), Ryland Rees (1, first of career), Zed Williams (2), Kyle Jackson (2), Shawn Evans (1), Kevin Reisman (1, 1st of season), and Kyle Denhoff (1).
The leader in the assist column for the Cannons was Challen Rogers who had a team high 3 assists on the night.
Rees was causing problems all night long for the Lizards recording 6 ground balls and forcing a team high 4 turnovers to go along with his first goal of the MLL season.
In net Nicholas Marrocco was in net for his third start of the season. He recorded 9 saves on 20 shots.
With the win the Cannons move to 3-0 on the season and will be back next weekend, Saturday, June 29th when they host the Denver Outlaws.
