Bryant University Bulldogs Host The Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights on Saturday Afternoon As They Look To Start 2 And 0 In NEC Play
The Bryant University Bulldogs will host the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center. After a 67 to 63 win on Thursday afternoon over Saint Francis, Bryant is looking to start 2 and 0 in NEC play this season.
Going into Saturday afternoon, the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights sit at just 2 and 10 on the season and that includes a loss to Saint Francis Brooklyn in their NEC opener on Thursday night. The two wins on the season for the Knights have come against Quinnipiac and FDU-Florham which is a division 3 school. They also have losses to DePaul, Kentucky, and Notre Dame.
Jahlil Jenkins leads all scoring for the Knights on the season, averaging 16 points per game. He’s just one of four players for the knights who have averaged double digits in scoring on the season. What has really been the struggle for the Knights this season is their shooting from three point range as they’re just shooting 29.9% from three.
Keys For Bryant Win
With the Knights struggling to shoot from three point range this season, it will be key for the Bulldogs to make sure that the Knights struggle to hit baskets from three point range. The Bulldogs have held five of their last six opponents to below 30% from three point range.
The defensive efficiency for the Bulldogs this season is 100.3 which leads the NEC. In the last two season, the Bulldogs ranked last in the NEC and in the bottom 10 nationally.
If Bryant is able to hold the Knights below 30% from three point range on Saturday afternoon, it should lead to a Bulldogs win. When the Bulldogs have held opponents below 70 points this season, they are a perfect 8 and 0. Under coach Grasso, the Bulldogs are 18 and 2 when they accomplish that feat.
The game will start at 1:00 PM, live from the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Fans can watch the game live on NEC Front Row.
