Bryant University Bulldogs Get A Huge Win At Fordham University Rams Tuesday Afternoon In The Bronx
The Bryant University Bulldogs faced off against the Fordham University Rams on Tuesday afternoon in the Bronx. For nearly 15 minutes, the Bulldogs held the Rams from hitting a shot from the field, which helped the Bulldogs leave with a 69 to 61 win. This was the first time in program history that the Bulldogs were able to beat an Atlantic 10 team.
Freshman Benson Lin lead Bryant scorers on the afternoon as he was 5 for 11 from the floor with 15 points and he had 4 assists.
Senior Adam Grant had 12 points for himself on the afternoon and freshman Michael Green had 11 points too. Both players scored all of their points in the second half.
Bryant’s Defense Lead Them In The Second Half
The Bryant defense really stepped up in the second half, holding the Rams to shooting 23.3% from the field, that includes the 1 for 13 the Rams were from 3 point range in the second half.
“I’m very proud of my team’s effort against a very physical and well-coached team” said head coach Jared Grasso after the win. “
“We won with toughness, defense and rebounding. Holding the Rams to 23% shooting in the second half and outrebounding them by 11 rebounds is a credit to our guys’ toughness and selflessness. We will enjoy this for a few hours and then start our preparation for Dartmouth” added Grasso.
Hall Elisias continued his great interior defense in this game as well. He had another 3 blocks, bringing him to 31 on the season. That is tied for 9th in Bryant’s history at the division one level.
