The Providence College Friars are headed to the Big East Finals after they overcame a 17 point deficit to defeat Xavier on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
Kyron Cartwright was the hero here for the Friars scoring 15 pts with many of them coming late in this overtime thriller pushing Ed Cooley’s team into a title game against either Butler or Villanova.
After the Friars terribly inconsistent regular season the team is getting hot at exactly the right time thanks to excellent coaching from Cooley.
The Big East Title game will take place on Saturday at MSG.
Of course, PC wasn’t the only Rhode Island team playing in a big game on Friday. The Univerisity of Rhode Island Rhody Rams team were also victors taking down the VCU Rams to a final score of 76-67 to advance to the Atlantic 10 conference semifinals.
Going to be interesting to see where these two teams land come NCAA Tourney time.
