Boston Bruins 2018 Pump Up Video

This video should give you the chills as we prepare for a season with a ton of unknowns. The biggest being David Pastrnak. The other being the massive amount of young prospects the B’s have. No one knows who will be on that starting day roster. There could be some surprises. So let’s ignore all those questions and just get pumped that it is finally hockey season again. I hope that we can have some fun this season.

Go B’s

Boston Bruins Patrice Bergeron Impact Felt Immediately In Win Over Vancouver

Boston Bruins Get A Win And Bergeron Is Back

Boston Bruins faced the Vancouver Canucks and to everyone’s surprise, Patrice Bergeron made his return to the ice. His presence was noticed on the first shift. The team just looked better. This also meant that the Bjork-Bergeron-Marchand line was back together.

This line was unbelievable. The rumors were that they had grown chemistry at camp but who knew it would be like this. This line reminds me of the “conehead” line from Miracle on Ice. These guys just click and it is a sight to see. Bjork showed us what he can really deliver now that he has the best passer in the league back.

Just like most of the games this season the Bruins fell behind early. Everyone thought it here we go again. Except it was different this time. Bergeron was back and he made a difference as he nabbed an assist on the first goal of the game. The goal came from Anders Bjork who has been struggling to find the back of the net.

Boston was then given a power play after a vicious hit on Frank Vatrano from Erik Gudbranson. Then Tim Schaller abiding by the code of hockey fought Erik Gudbranson for his awful hit. It should be a suspendable play. Gudbranson received a major penalty. Luckily Frank would come back at some point in the game. David Pastrnak decided to take matters into his own hands and show that he is worth that big contract with a beautiful goal.

The Bruins were still on the powerplay and Bjork got his second of the game to make it a 2 goal game. Still, on the powerplay, David Krejci added a goal of his own to make it 4-1 just 10:40 into the game. Bergeron ended the first period with 2 assists. Just his presence and skill help the team step up their own game. It is something he has done for Boston for a long time.

Brad Marchand started off the second period with a goal from Bergeron. Boston then had a bit of a lapse as the Canucks capitalized on the powerplay with a goal from who else but Thomas Vanek. Then another from Bo Horvat just 34 seconds later. Luckily the Bruins got their composure back and were able to take the two-goal lead into the third.

The third was quite dull compared to the first two. Boston was able to get the nail in the coffin from you guessed it, Bergeron. Bergeron finished the game with 4 points. He is the difference maker in that locker room and on the ice.

Up Next:

The Bruins will face off against Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres tomorrow night. It will be a clash of BU between Eichel and Charlie McAvoy.

Boston Bruins Look To Bounce Back Against Vancouver Canucks

Boston Bruins VS Vancouver Canucks Preview

Boston Bruins will look to bounce back from a tough start tonight as they face the Canucks at home.  Not much has gone right for the team so far and it is not going to stop at least not yet.

It was announced that Ryan Spooner will miss 4-6 weeks with a tear in his groin. Then on top of that yesterday in practice Anders Bjork collided with Tuukka Rask during a drill and Rask was helped off the ice. So far there has not been an update on Rask. There are also reports that Zane McIntyre has been recalled. Adam McQuaid was also injured last game but has practiced and s not ruled out.

There is some good news out of all of this both Patrice Bergeron and David Backes have been skating. Bergy has been wearing the red no-contact jersey but he is skating. It sounds like Backes may play tonight.

It may be early in the season but this still almost a must-win game. Boston has shown spurts of talent and promise but has yet to put it all together. Tonight could be the night against a very beatable team. Also, Loui Eriksson of the Canucks has been placed on the IR for the Canucks. This will help it make it easier on the Bruins as they will be able to put more attention on the Sedin brothers.

Also, Kenny Agostino was called up and may make his debut tonight. Should he have been here from the start is what many are thinking. He has been off to a hot start down in Providence. Maybe he is that spark the team is missing.

“We liked the way Anton played last year at the end of the year, we liked he’s camp, we liked his first game,” said Cassidy. “We sort of mapped out the schedule for October, we’re gonna stick to that. Obviously if we have to deviate because of an injury then we’ll do that and have confidence in him for sure.”

Let’s just hope the Bruins can pull out a win tonight as they need one.

Keys to The Game:

  • Score First
  • make crisper plays on the breakout
  • show some passion

The game will be broadcast on NESN and 98.5 the Sports Hub.

Boston Bruins Going Down Quick, Spooner and McQuaid Hurt

Published

on

The Boston Bruins season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan so far. As of the writing of this post the team is 2-3 on their season. Not exactly a deep hole, but the way they have gotten to it is mildly concerning.

Injuries have plagued the team thus far with players like Patrice Bergeron, David Backes, and Torey Krug missing time to start the season. But on Sunday the injuries continued to pile up with forward Ryan Spooner and defensemen Adam McQuaid going down against the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Spooner went down in the second period having suffered a lower-body injury after just 6:42 ice time. In five games he has one assist as the primary third line center. If Spooner is down for an extended period of time it looks like Austin Czarnik will get the first crack in his place. This year is crucial to Spooner’s career with it likely being his last real shot at proving himself to Boston.

Spooner’s injury was not realized on TV and was only noticed after the second period was concluded. McQuaid, on the other hand, was visibly in pain and had to be helped off the ice. McQuaid went down in the third period after going to block a Colin Miller slap shot that hit him in the inner knee.

The Boston Bruins have until Thursday to get ready for their next game which will be against the Vancouver Canucks at home in TD Garden.
