The Bryant University Bulldogs Host The Navy Midshipmen On Monday Night Looking To Get Above .500 On The Season
The Bryant University Bulldogs will begin the month of December on Monday night at Home when they host the Navy Midshipmen. Coming into Monday night, Bryant holds a 4 and 4 record on the season. This is the first time Bryant has held a .500 record or better coming into December in six seasons.
Navy currently sits at 4 and 3 on the young season. They last played on Saturday at Brown, a 76 to 56 win. That game was tied at 50 with about 8 minutes left in the game before Navy went onto a 26 to 6 run to close out the game.
This will be the 6th time Bryant and Navy will play each other over the last eight seasons. Last year, Bryant played Navy down in Annapolis, but were held off after erasing an 11 point deficit late in the game. Adam Grant had 21 points in that game for the Bulldogs.
Bryant University’s president Ronald K. Machtley graduated from Navy in 1970 and this will be the last time the two school will face each other with Machtley being the president of Bryant University. Machtley announced that he will be retiring at the end of this academic year.
Bryant is going to need help on rebounding to win this game, and that will start with big man Patrick Harding. Harding is averaging 12.3 rebounds per game which ranks for fifth in the nation at the division one level. Navy holds a margin of +9.7 rebounds per game on the season. So Navy has done a very good job on the season on the boards.
The game will start at 7:30 PM, live from the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Fans can watch the game on NEC Front Row.
